This week we begin the topic of “Backpacks!!” We are going to take a look inside ourselves and see what we’re carrying around in our own personal “backpack”. What weighs us down? What holds us back from becoming everything God intends us to be? Our Key Passage for this kick off night is Matthew 11:28-30 - 28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."

We are going to look at the life of Ruth! The book of Ruth is a book that is rich with the heritage and laws of ancient Israel. During each week’s study there are key terms that come up in the text that are worth noting in the lessons because the background is an amazing canvas on which this story is painted.

SHINE! Saturday February 20th As you may know, this year our Student Ministry is headed to Mexicali, Mexico to serve this upcoming Spring Break. We are really excited to see how God is going to be working through and within us. As we get ready for this awesome mission, we want to start preparing our hearts by serving our church body first! Saturday, February 20th we want to know what we can do for our Church. We are meeting at MCC @ 8:45 am for this great day of service! This is a mandatory service for those who are going on the Mexico Mission Trip . Please let us know if you have any questions.

Friday Night, March 26th we have our Putting On The Ritz Night! We will be dressing up and celebrating the arts! "Trial by Jury" by Gilbert & Sullivan, directed by Musical Theatre Students, Music Recital Hall. We will be meeting at Modesto Junior College @ 7:00pm to enjoy this great chance to come together and celebrate God’s beauty in each other and in the arts! Afterwards we are going to have some delectable dessert! The Cost for this incredible evening is $8!

Night To Invite

We are on our way to an incredible Night to Invite for our High School students on either Tuesday, March 23rd or Tuesday, March 30th. We are completing the last few plans so stay posted because you are not going to want to miss it! This is a Fantastically Planned and Excitingly Coordinated Night where our students will invite their friends to experience God @ Youth Group and also hear the Gospel. This is a great event to have them invite their friends! We will be meeting at the usual time - 7:17pm-9pm.

Mission Mexico Outreach 2010!

“Will you go?” This April, we are offering our students a chance to be a light unto our world. For our Mission Experience this spring, we have the opportunity to partner again with Azusa Pacific University to be a part of their Mexico Outreach Mission Experience in to Mexicali, Ej. Cuernavaca Mexico. We will work with the local church in reaching a community that needs Jesus Christ.

It doesn’t matter what age you are, serving others in need is life-changing. Mexico Outreach was founded on the principle that young people of all ages can be effective in sharing the Gospel, and that within them are many gifts and talents to do so. Who is to say that one of them might not grow into a "Daniel," and another into the next great missionary of our generation? Our prayer is that every participant with Mexico Outreach experiences Jesus Christ and finds themselves renewed in purpose in Him.

Here are details that are important to know
1.     How to sign up for Mexico Mission Outreach
a.     You must turn in a $50 non-refundable deposit
b.     Have completed “General release of liability,” Immigration Documentation copied and ready, & the “consent to travel to Mexico for Minors” signed and completed. These forms are included in this letter along with the “Immigration Documentation” guidelines. ALL ITEMS NEED TO BE TURNED IN BY JANUARY 20TH!

We can study the Bible over and over, but so often we miss the most obvious things. When Jesus came, He talked all the time about the "Kingdom of God." This is not just some future time or place, it is the presence and power of God breaking through to our world. Jesus is the King of the Kingdom, and He has come! It is our goal to have a ministry where the Kingdom of God is alive and growing, a group of people working hard to change the world for God through the power of His Spirit. We invite you to join us!
